Dr. Frank Houdek graduated in Computer Science at the University of Ulm. Then he joined the Daimler Research Centre in Ulm where he worked as a Ph.D. student from 1995 to 1999 in the field “Empirical Software Engineering”.
In 1999 he shifted his interests to requirements engineering. Since then, he worked in and headed various research and transfer projects with internal customers in the passenger car and commercial vehicles business units.
In 2015 he shifted to series development where he also is responsible for testing methodology and testing of basic technology in electronic control units like networking, security, diagnosis, and flashing.

He is a member of the GI (German Interest Group on Computer Science) and an IEEE CS member; he was active in the leading group of the GI professional group 2.1.6 Requirements Engineering.
He was and is involved in various program and organizing committees of events related to requirements engineering (e.g. RE, REFSQ).
