Karol Frühauf studied electrical engineering in Bratislava and at the RWTH Aachen, where he graduated in Technical Informatics. During the next 12 years he worked at BBC Brown Boveri & Cie in the development of systems for power system control, progressing from programmer via quality manager to executive manager.
In 1987 he founded, together with Helmut Sandmayr, the firm INFOGEM AG, which in the field of systems engineering is among the favorite addresses for consulting and coaching in Switzerland.
For 25 years he has been the head of the Fachgruppe Informatik of the SAQ, Swiss Association for Quality.
Karol Frühauf is co-author of the books
- "Software-Projektmanagement und -Qualitätssicherung"
- "Software-Prüfung – eine Anleitung zum Test und zur Inspektion"
Both have appeared in print by the vdf Verlag der Fachvereine Zürich. Since quality without requirements is not possible he accords them the appropriate attention.
His requirements for life transcend the system boundaries of informatics. He initiated and directs the Bridge Guard Residence for Artists and Scientists in Štúrovo (Slovakia) and published two little books with poems, aphorisms and photographs in Slovak language.
